T.T., ellyfant, Bob, lainee, scooter, spg, Emerald, sharon, flan327, ravenfreak, I had read here in Michigan, USA that the U.S. Senate passed a bill to make DST permanent. It's now heading to the House of Representatives. Labeled "The Sunshine Protection Act". We'll see what happens.

I do like when laws tell us how to set the clock.

That time of year again! Next weekend we will Fall Back 1 hour. I still haven't heard any updated news if they will stop this or not.

I wonder why not everyone is on the same page where DST is observed. In the UK it has already gone back but we have to wait another week.

I would rather it just stay put once and for all. They keep threatening to do it in Ireland but it's all talk.

My state follows it, I do love it in the fall since it is an extra hour on the weekend but I do hate it in the spring since we lose that hour. But with a recent bill, it might be coming to an end.

Yes, unfortunately. It seems to do more harm than good in my opinion. Half the time I would forget if it weren't for my phone updating the time.

March 12 we will be Springing Ahead. I had hoped they would have done away with it by now with all the talk.

We do observe DST where I am, yes. I don't mind it too much especially during the Spring and Summer months as it means longer days which are nice, the only thing I hate about the clocks going forward is that we lose an hour of sleep. When it comes to the clocks going backward I don't mind that too much until we get to after Christmas when the evenings are getting dark earlier. It's not too bad when we have all the Christmas lights but after that, it can be quite depressing.

There is yet again another bill in the Senate to do away with the time changes which will easily pass the senate but will be shot down by a bunch of morons in the House.

Welp this weekend we'll be setting our clocks an hour ahead, well those who live in a area where DST is still a thing. :\ It's nice having more sunshine but I don't like losing an hour of sleep.

That time of year! Next weekend is DST ends. They keep talking about doing away with it but I want the talk to turn into action. What do you think about the Time Changes?

I despise DST. I grew up in Chicago, so I feel that I function optimally in Central Time. I'm always so tired while under the influence of DST. But when I go back to Standard Time, I feel way more rested. I hate the shock every Springtime of always just being totally tired.

We just changed the clocks. Now we are changing them again next weekend. So much for the "getting rid of it"!

I despise daylight savings time. In fact, I hate having my life run by a stupid clock to begin with. I'll settle for sticking with Standard time all year round. But I'd rather be able to wake up when my body is rested enough and wakes up all by itself without the need for an annoying alarm clock. Also to go to sleep when I'm naturally tired, instead of having to force myself to stay awake because of some society function (this is why I typically don't go out anymore. I like my sleep) I also don't like the clock because it keeps all of as slaves to our Corporate Overlords. They get to decide how much time is too much -- even when urinating, apparently three minutes including washing my hands is too much time away from helping customers... oh, and oh you have to use the bathroom? Too bad, you're not on break yet, hold it. This is so stupid and unhealthy. And, another thing, if I complete all my work responsibilities, can I go home early to do something I want to do? No, I pretty much signed a contract upon being employed that I'm committed to that 9-5 job. So much time...so much of my life is just wasted because of a stupid clock. I actually noticed that I'm not writing, something that I want to do because I fear that I'll be interrupted in the middle of writing to go do some other obligation, because "it's that time", and then I'll loose track of what I was doing, the momentum is gone, the creative juices blocked. Clocks suck.
Update: I also just noticed that I already responded to this topic...probably when we fell back.

Senkusha I do agree with you! The only way past that is to live off the grid & be 100% self-sufficient. & I have no problem with people responding again to a thread. We want to rant & rave at times.

Some years ago Britain tried abolishing it. The result was a big increase in deaths on the road so they restored daylight saving and the death rate went down
