healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2021/05/18/how-do-cats-stay-cool.aspx Story at-a-glance Like dogs, cats sweat when they’re warm, stressed, or scared, but their bodies contain relatively few sweat glands compared to humans; kitties also groom themselves as a cooling strategy Unlike sweating, regular panting in cats is abnormal and is often a sign of an underlying disorder or disease requiring veterinary attention During the warm months of the year, it’s not uncommon for city cats to suffer “high-rise syndrome,” with often devastating consequences It’s important to take action to ensure your feline family member has everything she needs to stay cool and safe during the spring and summer months My notes: Some cool info on this subject. A lot of it I didn't know! Bob Emerald lainee lammchen @marti safeinsanity @shaliza stluee topsilver twistedpingu

Very interesting, my Mam loves cats and i don't know what she would do if anything happened to her "baby" as she calls her lol - Cats have the best lives though don't they? They eat and sleep and are constantly grooming themselves haha

Some very good info I did not know. But our cats like being out in the sun. They even like laying in the hot sun coming through the window. I guess we just count on them to know when enough is enough. Oh yeah, and they sweat around their anus! Ewwwww! LOL

My cats actively seek the sun too, but i'm guessing we dont often get hot enough to cause harm in the UK.
