I have recently got the aloe vera from the nursery and also learned that it can survive without much of light and also the exposure to the daily light. I think this can be a good thing considering we have a lot of interesting way to handle garden while staying home and not going out. That being said, what else can be done about the aloe vera? How do you keep expanding it in the garden?

I have aloe vera as a houseplant. We can't grow it outdoors here in Michigan USA. I do know my paternal grandma used to have an aloe plant & would eat some every day for health & regularity. My dad does that as well. I can't as it's quite bitter lol Maybe others who grow it outside will be able to provide insight into preventing the expansion.

As we live in the Midwest, our aloe vera plants are also houseplants. They have many medicinal uses and don't need much care...they're quite easy to grow.

Mine always do super well indoors and I found a decent grow light will grow a monster aloe vera plant, but I have a hard time getting pups off them and they normally start getting tall and then fall over. So not sure what the problem is.

For the pups, it says they have to be 5 to 6 years old in order to produce. How old is yours?

I have not had them for 5+ years, so that may be the reason for that.

I've seen other people grow it in their homes during winter, I might give it a try sometime, just to keep me from losing my green thumb while waiting for spring.
