I have had a pet in my life for as long as I can remember. That being said, I've never had a cat of my own and certainly never while I was pregnant. Currently, I am 34 weeks pregnant and due in July. My cat, Trouble, who is almost a year, is more like a dog than a cat in general. For one, she fetches, I taught her how to do that months ago. She also sits on her hind legs and puts her paws on my lap to beg or get pets, just like a dog. Overall, she's just a really strange cat.
All that being said, as of late, she has been following me around. She follows me to the bathroom, bed, kitchen, etc. She's constantly laying at my feet when I'm working on the computer. And, when I go to sleep, she either curls up behind me at my knees or wraps herself around the baby bump under the blanket and sleeps there with me all night. It's super strange behavior to me. She's been doing this for at least a month. The following me thing is getting so bad, I keep tripping over her or stepping on her tail because she won't stay out from under feet.
So is this normal for a cat during her human's pregnancy?

While I don't have kids, I do know pets are quite intuitive. If you're due in a month, Trouble may sense that & her own maternal instincts are kicking in & want you & the baby to be safe & healthy. I'm curious how she will act after the baby is born.
