For those youngsters out there, this was a game invented in the 1970’s. It’s a 3-D combination puzzle where you move the pieces in a mechanical fashion. It consists of 6 sides with 9 colors on each side. The old one we had were stickers. I remember ‘cheating’ when I couldn’t figure the thing out & just moving the stickers around I didn’t realize that once you did that, the cube is ruined. I’ve seen some people, ever noticed they are mainly young kids, that are known as Speedcubers who can put them back together extremely fast. For those who have done this, what is that secret? I had always thought it was chance but is there strategy involved?

I can solve all types of rubik's cubes from the 2x2 all the way to the 7x7. I can also do the different shape ones as I did a lot of these in high school. I always had teachers that dared me to solve it before they finished class and I would solve it before all the students even were sat down at their desk.

I've touched a Rubik's cube. But I was quite young back then so I honestly had no idea how it worked or what to even do with it. I've never tried one properly so obviously I haven't solved one either.

You want to be able to look ahead while solving the cube that way you can do rotations without stopping. I am not to that point. With the beginner method, I have solved it a couple of times all the way through. In CFOP, I can solve the cross and F2L using the advanced method. I don't know permutation or orientation in CFOP. Maybe every two months or so, I pick up a cube and practice. Not even that.

I have a cousin who can solve the Rubik cube in less than 90 seconds, no matter how you mix it up. He says there is a formula to do this. In order to solve this cube, you should start with a certain part at the center of one side. I have never been able to solve it.

If you ever get the formula, share it please

I used to be able to!!
I actually had a book that described what you needed to do according to how each side looked and from there it was a matter of making moves that would go backwards at time in order to get it all solved.

When i was younger i used to love them and could solve them quickly, if you was to give me one now it would probably take me a while longer to complete it, this actually brings back memories back before computers became the normal and dial up days when the internet was not so fast and a rubiks cube could keep you entertained for a while if and when i had the patience for them

ZandraJoi, I solved twice or thrice, but forgotten the idea whn kids ask to do. The main strategity here it is we need to move to match the other cube, but we have to get back how it was before. I mean if their was one side fully finished, btu while trying to another side it will spoil, but you need to get it back while doin on the other side too. I think their are videos to watch over this situation.
