healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2020/10/14/baby-squirrel-is-lighter-than-an-aa-battery.aspx "Found in a pile of leaves, a tiny baby squirrel fed every 90 minutes refused to gain weight. Treated for lactose intolerance, Rocky thrived and was released back to the wild." My notes: I never heard of a squirrel being lactose intolerant. I wonder if it would've been fine from its own mother. Cows drink cows milk. Humans & other animals have no place drinking another's milk. With that said, I do consume organic dairy on occasion. Hard habit to break!

healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2020/10/15/in-home-acupuncture-for-pets.aspx Story at-a-glance Veterinarian Dr. Heather Oxford was nominated as a Healthy Pets Game Changer for her practice in mobile acupuncture and rehabilitation Dr. Oxford was once skeptical about acupuncture but changed her mind after she experienced the profound benefits of the procedure for her own migraine pain It was out of the desire to provide better care for her patients that Dr. Oxford bridged the gap between what she learned in veterinary school and the preventive medicine she wanted to provide to her patients After seeing increased demand from owners asking if she could come to them, she transitioned to an exclusively mobile practice Dr. Oxford commonly spends an hour in her pet patient’s homes, and she’s able to custom curate a protocol based upon the patient’s lifestyle and health needs My notes: We need more people like her!

healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2020/10/17/dr-shannon-ruff-doctor-of-chiropractic.aspx Story at-a-glance Pet Game Changer Dr. Shannon Ruff is a Doctor of Chiropractic (for humans) and certified in animal chiropractic through the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association While still an undergrad, Dr. Ruff began searching for an alternative to Western medicine, discovered chiropractic and then animal chiropractic and fell in love with its principles and philosophy, as well as the opportunity to pursue her passion for both small and large animals At Ruff Chiropractic, her house call practice, Dr. Ruff often finds herself treating entire families on two legs and four, as well as educating pet owners about maintenance chiropractic Dr. Ruff wants everyone who has exhausted all Western medicine options to know there’s still hope for healing through chiropractic and other alternative healing modalities My notes: Love how it starts: “My journey started in undergrad at Newberry College where I was pursuing a career in healthcare,” explains Dr. Ruff. “But honestly, I was kind of fed up with Western medicine and the over-medicated society we live in today and was searching for something different."

healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2020/12/10/rescuer-saves-greyhounds.aspx Story at-a-glance For more than 16 years, Sonia Stratemann, our latest Animal Game Changer Award nominee, and her organization, Elite Greyhound Adoptions in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida, has rescued more than 2,500 greyhounds Many of the dogs came with injuries, including broken backs and legs In order to rescue dogs that had been exploited for this controversial “sport,” she had to abide by the unspoken rules, which included not going public with what she saw Racing greyhounds spend long hours in confinement in their crates, and aren’t sure how to act when given freedom; after some love and attention, they feel secure enough to show who they really are: sweet, intelligent dogs With greyhound racing coming to an end in the U.S., Sonia is focusing her efforts on saving dogs in China, including dogs in the meat trade My notes: I don't know why they even had this as a 'sport'. It didn't benefit the animals. Bob @catsmother @james Lee @shaliza

What the F--K!

That is so cool. The mothering instinct is very strong in animals. So many times we have seen animals taking care of others that were left orphan.
