Have you tried this? A lot of people turn WiFi off when they have finished the day's work.

Interesting. Have not tried this. Our modem is connected to our phone.

Mine stays on. I would rather not have to deal with turning the router on and off. Plus, I often wake up and can't get back to sleep, so I use my phone or laptop for a while in the middle of the night.

Modem connected to phone could be DSL or ADSL type. It is more or less like other connections. We can turn the modem part off and still have the phone working.

I don't switch off wifi at night. I switch off wifi only when I am going on a vaction. I am always connected because I need to reply to my clients and customers immediately. Sometimes I even wake up in the middle of the night to attend a meeting.

I don't see the point. It won't make my bill go down. Well, as of now, I pay for the highest plan - because I need a lot of power for streaming TV and internet computer work. Anyway, I don't think the power being on "all the time" will burn up the modem.

I turn off the Wi-Fi on my phone whenever I'm not using it. My PC is always connected to the internet. But I never turn off the router itself as I see no point in doing that. You have to turn it on/off everytime and sometimes, you might want to quickly check something online and you would have to turn it on specially for that simple task.

I know why people do this however I don't as it's largely pointless because you don't save too much electricity and if nothing is crossing your network then it won't effect bandwidth usage much either so it really doesn't make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things I don't think.

It's not something we do because it's just not worth the effort. I tend to stay up late as well so I would have to actively get out of bed, turn it off, and get back in which would just be awful.

I switch off more than 5 to 6 times in day time and night is totally off after 1 AM. My service provider recommended to off the router whenever it is not in use for uninterruption.
Even doctors advised not to sit infront or PC all the time, I mean leave a gap and rest to our eyes.

I should turn off my wifi at night since it's not needed or being used, but I'm too lazy or would forget. As for my devices, I do turn them off or wifi when not in use.

We wouldn't remember right away to turn it on and it would be too frustrating. Sometimes we check things in the middle of the night, so wifi is needed. I don't get data in certain rooms with my phone and need the wifi connection.

Everything is hard-wired in my house to the point that it wouldn't really affect much. We run our own media server and cloud, so it would mess up things for the kids up late and I don't think it would prevent much tech use due to cell data and such. Overall I find just developing healthy tech habits a better option.
