healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2022/02/25/vegetables-in-pets-meal.aspx Story at-a-glance Dogs and cats are domesticated scavenging carnivores and as such, require varying amounts of roughage in their diets for digestive, intestinal and bowel health Small amounts of low glycemic vegetables provide roughage, phytonutrients, and antioxidants in your pet’s diet, and fermented veggies provide additional significant health benefits Fermented vegetables are optimally digestible for dogs and cats, and are also a potent source of probiotics; in addition, they are potent chelators and detoxifiers, and the lactic acid produced during fermentation has cancer fighting properties If your pet will eat fermented vegetables, it’s important to start with very small amounts and build up gradually to 1 to 3 teaspoons per 20 pounds of body weight My notes: Some pets can be quite picky when it comes to veggies. Does your pet like a specific one?

We don't feed vegetables regularly but sometimes we include potatoes, cauliflower, cabbages, etc. in our dog's food. We sometimes feed him fruits, especially when he looks at us hungrily while we are eating fruits.

Vegetables are great for pets, especially dogs because some vegetables are hard and can be used as healthy chews for the dog to naw on. Carrots and cucumber are great for this sort of them and they are tasty for them too.

My daughter's bulldog isn't a big veggie eater. When she and her guinea pig sister are here visiting, the dog wants to try whatever food I give the guinea pig and that's usually a veggie or a fruit. She's learned to like blueberries, but that's only because I make them out to be a big deal LOL

My dog won't eat any vegetable or fruits which we eat. It is waste food for my dog because it is addicted towards only milk, curd and meat, chapati, etc.
It smells food of vegetables, but doesn't like to eat either.

www.barkandwhiskers.com/vegetables-for-dogs Story at-a-glance Small amounts of fresh, low glycemic vegetables are crucial to the health of cats and dogs Vegetables are a rich source of critical phytochemicals not found in meat, and may have such positive effects on our pets’ health due to a process called xenohormesis Veggies also provide minerals and vitamins E, K, C, beta-carotene and the B vitamins; bright-colored and leafy green veggies tend to be the most nutritious Fermented vegetables are optimally digestible for dogs and cats, and are nutritional powerhouses, even in very small quantities Adding veggies to pet diets promotes gut health and leaving them out results in a less robust microbiome; veterinary researchers are beginning to study the critical role of a healthy microbiome in maintaining pets' immunologic and physiologic well-being My notes: Do you feed your pets any veggies? What kind do they like? We tried a few of them for our dog but she didn’t care for them.

I have never tried feeding vegetables to my cat. She is a picky eater at best.

Cats and dogs eat vegetables for a long time ago means it becomes a habit that they eat and this is by experience. People share Tiktok videos of cats or dogs eating vegetables and fruits.
