www.naturalawakenings.com/2022/03/31/392680/himalayan-glacier-retreat-bodes-consequences-for-millions"Glaciers in the Himalayan Mountains have been growing for millions of years, but researchers at England’s University of Leeds conclude in a new study published in the journal Scientific Reports that they are melting at an exceptional rate compared to other glaciers around the world. The Himalayas are home to nine of the world’s 10 highest peaks, including Mt. Everest, and the source of Asia’s longest river, the Yangtze. They contain the third-largest deposit of ice and snow in the world, after Antarctica and the Arctic. Study co-author Jonathan Carrivick, deputy head of the University of Leeds School of Geography, says, “Our findings clearly show that ice is now being lost from Himalayan glaciers at a rate that is at least 10 times higher than the average rate over past centuries ... and coincides with human-induced climate change.”..." My notes: While the world has shrunk & gained on its own, the impact from humans has accelerated these changes.

Sad, but true. While I do believe the climate is changing on it's own, some of it is due to humans & their activities.

I don't know if humans can be totally to blame. Look at the other planets in the solar system that have changed. We aren't affecting them.

About one-third of the Himalayan mountain range lies in our country. Recently, the government decided to relocate Everest Base Camp because of "Melting Glacier" Nepal and Delhi are closest parts to the Himalayan Glaciers, but now it is more hard to live in those areas. It is nice to hear that Nepal govt had relocated camp from this melting glacier. Do you all rejoin again in Summer time?
