Do you know how to code? How did you learn it? Share, so that others can learn how to code from you too.

I dabbled in HTML & actually enjoyed doing it. However, there weren't any classes near me when I got stuck. I know www.w3schools.com/ is a good one.

I'm decent enough at HTML if people consider that coding. But if it is actual coding/programming like java and cobol or php then no I am completely clueless on that. Took a few college classes that nearly destroyed me as my mind would not wrap around it and ended up costing me a bit.

I know some programming but I often start learning a new language and never pick it back up. I'm better at modifying someone else's code than my own, which is why I mainly stick to modding old Sonic games. I have made a basic calculator in C++ before, but it was a command line program since I never learned how to make a program with a graphical interface. xD If you ever want to learn a language I highly recommend checking out Python, it's syntax is super easy to understand moreso than other high level languages IMO.

I learned in college and online at w3schools and one more website that forgottten. In these days communites are more powerful for learning and getting answers. We can learn small codings only online unless we are some professionals.

there is a wide range of resources to learn from and still visit some to this day 1 of them mentioned above W3 Schools and i get a lot of information on stackoverflow. but as most experienced developers always has google on another tab just incase we need to search somthing up. some good resource for me that i use - W3Schools (for the basics) - Stackoverflow (someone may have already asked for somthing your looking for) - realpython.com/ (for some python information) - dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/learn (mainly for C# and XAML) - symfony.com/doc/current/index.html (for php framework things) Youtube - I follow Tim Corey - www.youtube.com/user/IAmTimCoreyCodemy - www.youtube.com/c/CodemycomTutorialsEU - www.youtube.com/c/tutorialsEUthere is a lot of resources out there and a lot of developers do say google is the best resource and over time you will collect useful links to your exact skillset and knowledge you currently have.

FreecodeCamp and the youtube channels can be a good option. You can find plenty of channels out there for the content. You would be able to get the content which is specific to language and code you are writing. So that can change most of your searches. But stick with the freecodecamp and few beginner ones for the time being.

I’m great at developing web applications but as far as Android apps I’m clueless. If I ever make an app for my site I hire someone.
I’m a PHP developer.

Just find out some experts on the internet and give it another try.

fait, Good to hear that you have lot of skills in developing websites, but i see more difference between applications and web. Did you ever tried in looking to App? if so what you find the difference. I am too interested in making application, but never went in research of it and makes me mad.

I can, with most of my knowledge coming from school and university. I wouldn't say that I'm absolutely amazing and can create amazing programs but I can code in Java and Python. I don't really count HTML and CSS as programming but I'm quite proficient in both as well.

I don't code, however, I very much want to learn it. I have even joined a couple of coding classes on Udemy, however, I am yet to start. The only thing that is stopping me is my ckmmitment. I don't have time to commit to start coding.

Just have some interest towards it and it and will happen eventually. If there is a will, there is a way.

How do you learn how to code? Do you prefer to take a class? Study yourself from home via books & websites? I had dabbled in HTML & learned from some books & websites. I loved doing it however the downside is when I got stuck, I didn’t have anybody to help me out of the rut so I ended up quitting.

Best way to code if you've never coded before, is to start with HTML. HTML is very basic and once you've learned it, it really opens the door to other coding languages like CSS and Javascript. The easiest way to practise is by taking free coding courses online, watching YouTube videos, and making locally hosted websites that are coded from scratch. Notepad++ works well with CSS, once you've mastered HTML.
