The Arm Pump. Also called The Trucker Salute. I actually read up on it & it’s a dying tradition unfortunately. Probably ‘cos kids are hunched over on their phones that they are not enjoying the actual trip. I remember doing it a lot when I was a kid especially going out in our motorhome & sitting in the back where we could face them to see when they were coming. I also read that a lot of truckers enjoy doing it as well as it helps break up the monotony.

I absolutely remember doing that! And, to me, it WAS like 'saluting' them, so I did it a lot...and enjoyed it, too!

I don't think I've ever done it for a truck but if I remember correctly, I've done it for a train.

I've done so multiple times as a kid, to trucks and even to trains every once in a while. It was always cool when they would honk back. xD
