Some good tips, though the Deer one is iffy, if the deer are really hungry, they are going to eat no matter what. We got a huge growing deer problem in the city and no amount of smelly stuff keeps them away.
My tip is to buy something that will come back next year and years after to save money in the future.

I am already a gardener, but what I do is always water the plants in automatic direction so they keep on growing. I also keep most of the plants under shade in Summer or use a shade net for them..
My betel plants struggled a lot for growing and the pot become dry within 12 hours so I keep watering it 2 times a day.

Some good tips mentioned in the articl. I did not know sunflowers attract beneficial insects. I have never grown sunflowers. Gardening is not stressful work for me therefore, I take pleasure in watering plants, I do not have to install self-watering continers.

Thankfully we have some deer in Ireland, but out in the wild and they don't come onto household property.
