www.familyhandyman.com/article/dont-use-your-ovens-self-cleaning-feature "According to appliance repair pro Scott the Fix-It Guy, you need to think twice before firing up your oven's self-cleaning cycle.... A self-cleaning oven incinerates the crumbs and grease in your oven and turns them into ashes. It does this by bringing the interior temperature of the oven to almost 1,000 F for three to five hours. And, therein lies the problem. That much heat can damage oven components...." My notes: I think we may have tried this feature many years ago. Didn't care for it. Do you use it? What do you think about it? I rather just prevent situations in the first place.

Yeah, I think I used it once ...wasn't impressed. I'll just clean it the old-fashioned way...probably get it cleaner that way Baking soda works just fine.

golden, Absolutely...baking soda will work on just about anything. I use Arm & Hammer baking soda for cooking, cleaning, in the washing machine. Just put some on a wet cloth, make a paste out of it & start rubbing. It'll work great...and it will make everything smell fresher, too
