healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2020/06/25/dolphins-distinct-personalities.aspx Story at-a-glance In a study of wild dolphins, researchers were able to identify 24 individual adults and reveal distinct personalities among them Dolphins were exposed to two new “threats”: a person in snorkeling gear and the sound of an underwater alarm that’s meant to keep dolphins away from fishing nets A range of behaviors was seen, with some dolphins coming very close to the strange person or loud noise-emitting device and others staying about 220 feet away Other dolphins came in somewhere in the middle, or approached the threats at times and avoided them at others While male and female dolphins were equally bold or shy, differences were seen among the social connections formed by dolphins with different personalities Bolder dolphins had deeper social ties compared to shy dolphins, suggesting that personality may influence dolphin social networks My notes: All animals have the capacity to experience emotions. Won't be like a human but doesn't mean they are any less real.

healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2022/05/12/dolphin-communication.aspx Story at-a-glance Rather than engaging in more familiar physical touches, male dolphins may use whistle as a way to keep in touch with their more casual pals Dolphins with the strongest social bonds used more physical touch while those with weaker social bonds preferred to communicate via whistles Each bottlenose dolphin has its own signature high-pitched whistle that’s believed to identify them, like a name might identify a human It’s also believed that dolphins can imitate other dolphins’ whistles, perhaps to get their attention in a large group My notes: Such beautiful & intelligent creatures!

I've never seen one in their natural habitat. Would be a thrill though.
