No, I use the free WordPad, when I needed to use it. However, lately, my projects have not needed any of that word processor stuff. Anyhow, the price for a professional word processor isn't worth it for me - because I simply don't do enough writing, as in where I'd use a word processor.

My work involves a lot of writing, therefore, I use Microsoft word. I have a lot of word documents. Some of my word documents were created more than 12 years ago.

These days I use desktop for Word and Excel if the workplace demands making use of the google docs and sheets, then I use that based on their requirement as well. It all depends on what they want me to use.

I currently don't have a subscription to Office, so I just use either Notepad++ or Open Office Word. I use Notepad++ strictly for notes, but for other writing projects such as writing a script for a video for my Youtube channel or simply writing an article for my blog I use OOW.

T.T., Bob, spg, jasonn, nomad, nova, ravenfreak, Thank you all for your replies Nomad, I've used Microsoft Word for about 20 years I'm guessing.
Spg, I use the Office version.
One thing I don't care for Re: Word is that it connects to OneDrive. I dislike OneDrive. I've always had issues with it.

It is easy to turn off One Drive. I have it turned off but it still gets connected to it in the background. I wish they would let you uninstall it. It screws up my Carbonite!

Remove OneDrive from Startup.
There is an option for that in OneDrive settings.

Remove OneDrive from Startup. There is an option for that in OneDrive settings. I have done that & no longer have OneDrive on my computer however whenever I open Word, it still wants to save to OneDrive. I was told by Carbonite that even if you uninstall OneDrive, it's still there. I had to find another way to save my files.

Word is too much into promoting their own services. There are many free alternatives to MS Office.

Word is too much into promoting their own services. There are many free alternatives to MS Office. Yeah, but I've been using it for 20 years & am so used to the style & layout. I just found a way to work-around the One Drive issue. Word screws up a lot but I'm afraid to try something else & lose all the stuff I have. I have 26 files & a lot of the writings are color coordinated. I'm quite organized lol

In that case, don't risk it. These corporate products always try to promote their ecosystem. Otherwise, they are very stable.

I use Microsoft Word for my Uni work and at work. But for general things, I very rarely use it because I just don't have a need for it.

I am using Google online word and Excel for my company documents since I lost so many times in desktops. In these days Google is only best for small purposes and even we can edit or write from anywhere.
MS word has so many features that a office need for making files.

I use it at the office. That is one thing software that is needed at every office where the job involves typing. I don't even know any other software that can do it better than Microsoft Word.

For those who have Microsoft Word, do you have issues with it? Since we got this computer, 2 years ago, I had nothing but headache. I use Word on a daily basis. It continually stalls, is laggy. Somebody said to uninstall then reinstall it but I am always hesitant as I don’t want to lose my files. I have 26! Then, how do you reinstall it? Where would I go? I have Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 with Windows 10. Should I try the Repair first? Per Microsoft Word SlowPlease note, I am NOT technically inclined T.T., Bob, spg, jasonn, nomad, nova, ravenfreak, spice, ash, golden, henrywrites, Eclipse, Galra Keith,

Take a backup of these files first. Either to an external storage device or a cloud service like Google Drive or One Drive.
My preferred solution is to use Google Docs. It works just like MS Office and can have an offline version too (with limitations).
Another option is to boost your Windows 10. How old is your PC? If the hardware is competent, try an optimiser tool.
