healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2020/09/28/do-dogs-forgive.aspx Story at-a-glance Unscientific observations of dogs interacting with their humans indicate our furry companions forgive us unconditionally Researchers at Butler University studied dog-dog conflicts at a dog park to determine if our canine companions “forgive” each other — reconcile — afterwards They learned that in dog park conflict scenarios, it is the Uncertainty Reduction Hypothesis that urges dogs to reconcile after a disagreement The Uncertainty Reduction Hypothesis serves to reduce stress and uncertainty about the potential for problems between dogs in the future My notes: I thought this was interesting. Never considered the fact if they 'remember' a conflict with another dog.

Eh. I think they recognize dogs they can’t be around. Just like they recognize people if they don’t see them for a long time.
