"On March 9th, we recognize one of the great American food holidays, National Meatball Day. It is not clear how this day got started, but who can resist the idea of celebrating National Meatball Day? There are many different ways to celebrate meatballs:
Spaghetti and meatballs Swedish Meatballs Meatball Sub Meatball Pizza Turkey Meatballs Lamb Meatballs Porcupine Meatballs (made with rice) and the list goes on and on. There is a restaurant in New York that has 54 different kinds of meatballs. Not only do meatballs allow for variety, but they move from appetizer to side dish to the main dish quite easily. Meatballs can be made the night before and put in the crockpot, or days before and kept in the freezer."
My notes: There are different ways to make meatballs. You can even do it vegetarian. Just use your imagination.

I love vegetarian and vegan meatballs and there are lots of ready made brands to choose from. Maybe one day I might get creative and make some from scratch.

"Each year on the 9th of March, people across the country observe National Get Over It Day. Just as it implies, the day is to do exactly that, GET OVER IT. “It” may be a variety of things. Sometimes we need to get over the small things like spilled milk or traffic. Even news such as being passed over for a promotion, poor grades, or an argument with a family member shouldn’t cause us to live our lives in a state of misery forever."
My notes: I've never liked the words "Get Over It" personally. To me, it demeans the situation & the feelings associated with said situation. If you take it for a different meaning, to just move on with life, that is easier to handle.

ZandraJoi, Yes, for most people, saying 'Get over it', is not helpful or kind...it's BRUTAL. Anyone who's gone through a traumatic experience knows how much these words...and others like it, can hurt. I agree, ZandraJoi...there are better ways to say it...nicer words to get your point across.

"National Slam the Scam Day on March 9th is an initiative to raise public awareness by helping the public to combat Social Security-related scams. Scammers are counting on you being uninformed of their deceptive tactics, the goal of this National Day is to get you informed on scammer tactics so you don’t fall prey to their schemes. Marlo Anderson, the founder of National Day Calendar, knows a few things about how scammers operate. He has witnessed countless people from the community come into our local shop having just been scammed by phone calls, emails, and threats. While we can often manage to repair the individual’s computer we cannot recover lost payments scammed from the public. For this very reason, we fully support National Slam the Scam Day."
My notes: This should be for ANY scam out there to any person.

"Observed annually on March 9th, National Crab Meat Day (also National Crabmeat Day) offers a day to celebrate one of America's favorite crustaceans. With 1.5 million tons of crab consumed every year around the world, plenty of crab meat lovers celebrate every year. While crab meat is a healthy choice, the fat and calories add up once you add the butter. And there are thousands of species of crabs, but only certain ones are edible. In the United States, some of the more popular and tasty ones are the blue crab, stone crab, Dungeness, king, and rock or snow crabs. They come in both hard and soft shells and can be found along all the coasts and Hawaii."
My notes: I have never had crab nor lobster. While I do eat fish on occasion, crab has never appealed to me.

I think I might have had crab once, but I can't say I enjoyed it.
Happy Crab Meat Day to anyone who enjoys it - but personally, I'll be giving it a miss!
