ZandraJoi, I don't track my footprint, either. But, as ZandraJoi so wisely stated, we can make a difference simply by paying more attention to the choices we do make.

www.familyhandyman.com/list/carbon-footprint-facts"What Is Carbon Footprint? A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions (including carbon dioxide and methane) a person, product, company, industry or country is responsible for causing. In our households, this includes finding out how much our daily life activities — like heating and air conditioning, commuting for work and food choices — are negatively impacting the planet...." My notes: I didn't know emails contributed! Did you? Included: LED Lightbulbs Are Carbon-Reducing Powerhouses Short Flights Are the Most Carbon-Intensive Way To Travel Cement Is Extremely Carbon Intensive Single-Use Plastic Also Has Big Feet Emails Contribute to Your Carbon Footprint A Lot of Our Carbon Footprint Is Hidden Solomon Islands Have the Highest Carbon Footprint Per Capita The U.S.’s Per Capita Carbon Footprint Is Dropping There Are Lots of Footprints lainee, Bob,

I wouldn't have thought short flights were better with the takeoffs. Of course single-use plastic is bad. Emails? How do they contribute?

I didn't know some of these facts...and, for sure didn't about emails. That's a good question, Bob....how on earth do they contribute to the Carbon Footprint?

I don't keep track, I rather not worry about stuff I do day to day. I just do my best in trying to stay green for the planet.

I don't either but I was surprised at some of the things that leave a carbon footprint! Interesting! Thank you! You would think if Spam was eliminated, that in itself would ease up on the carbon footprint load.

I don't track it either, but I do try to exercise common sense and avoid being wasteful.

www.familyhandyman.com/article/cut-your-carbon-footprint"Read on to learn the most powerful personal actions you can take. Spoiler alert: Recycling and home solar are not at the top of the list...." My notes: Going on the subject of Carbon Footprint is an article on how to cut it. What have you learned from this article? I had learned awhile ago that recycling, while good, is NOT the solution. We need to do the other R's first. lainee, Bob, demonskeith, Steve, kyng,

I've read a lot of that stuff before, I know cutting down on need for server power and jean making/washing would save a lot of resources.

Oh yeah, the other R's are more important. Many recyclables don't even get recycled.
