healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2022/02/22/dental-disease-in-cats.aspx Story at-a-glance Dental disease is incredibly common in felines, such that 50% to 90% of cats aged 4 years and older are affected Bad breath is a common sign of periodontal disease, which can lead to pain, tooth loss, bone loss and systemic infection in organs Feline stomatitis, an autoimmune disease in which the affected cat's immune system overreacts, triggering a massive inflammatory response in the mouth, can dramatically interfere with your cat’s quality of life Tooth resorption, tooth fractures and oral cancers are other common dental problems to keep an eye out for Regularly brushing your cat’s teeth, feeding real food and annual dental checkups will ensure good dental health even into your cat’s golden years My notes: You definitely have to get cats used to teeth brushing as kittens. Our are older & it's a fight.

Yeah, brushing their teeth is hard to do. We didn't start at kittens which does make it easier.
