www.naturalawakenings.com/2023/08/31/446471/harvesting-solar-power-in-space"Space-based solar power (SBSP) is the concept of collecting solar energy during a space orbit and beaming it safely to a fixed point on Earth. Recently, the British government sponsored an SBSP competition to award more than $5.5 million in grants to the most promising innovators of this novel technology, which may be the key to producing cost-effective, cleaner, more renewable energy. The goal is an array of spacecraft to collect sunlight and convert it into microwaves before beaming them to a receiver on Earth, where it is converted into electricity...." My notes: What do you think of this? I guess it could be more beneficial than taking up valuable space on Earth's land & water. Space that could be used for crops & affordable housing.

Not sure. Better than taking land from humans. How much would this cost? Who pays for it?

I'm going to tag kyng as I know he is into astronomy as well & to get his opinion

You would have to create a global circular collection grid that can always be beamed to, and hope no bad weather messes up the collection.

Microwaves aren't affected by cloud cover. In fact, microwaves can be used to heat up the clouds, thus causing them to "evaporate". I can see this as contributing to more climate change. Also, in the event of a Solar Storm (or flare), I could see this array being damaged at the very least. Probably a better way of generating electricity would be the use of magnetism. I've started looking into the work of Nicola Tesla and I think he was onto some key things. The Pyramids were actually electricity generators. Mother Nature gives us everything we need.

Nicola Tesla was a genius ahead of his time but a lot of his work got unnoticed & forgotten. He wanted free electricity for all. That didn't work for the bigwigs.
