www.naturalawakenings.com/2024/02/29/482027/forest-stewardship"Spanning more than 31 percent of our planet’s land, forests produce clean air and fresh water, offer a home to a multitude of plants and animals, and sequester enormous amounts of carbon from the atmosphere. And yet, human activity threatens these natural settings with deforestation, climate change and illegal logging. Here are actions we can take in celebration of International Day of Forests on March 21 and every day to ensure the future of our woodlands...." My notes: They give ways to help. i.e. planting trees. Go paperless. Education. I'm quite fond of supporting local.

It's a shame when trees are cut down to make room for urban sprawl. I live in an older community where city planners and land owners chose not to cut down trees. There are ways for forests and habitation to co exist.

Bob, spice, Thank you both for the replies! This reminds me of something I read a long time ago. They cut down the trees only to name the streets after them! SMH!
