tasteforlife.com/conditions-wellness/mood/reconnect-with-the-outdoors"Now more than ever, the best path in life meanders through the woods. What is Nature Deficit Disorder? Richard Louv coined the phrase “nature-deficit disorder” in his 2008 book Last Child in the Woods. The term describes the adverse effects of the dearth of nature in the lives of today’s young people, including depression, obesity, and attention disorders...." My notes: Anybody else have ideas that helps them reconnect? I love just being outside. Walking, doing my flowers. An option for some is to buy local guides. I have one for trees, birds, wildflowers, etc. Then you get to learn about the flora & fauna you have in your area.

Just sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Walk in the woods.

When given the opportunity I like to pack some food and have a picnic with my family at a park or natural area. Sometimes we will find a small area with a pond or lake and skip rocks. It's nice to be outdoors and catch some vitamin D. I think just going outside for a period of time and just walk and breathe fresh air is very beneficial.

The problem for many is that there is not enough space. And those who have it do not value them.

Someone asked me the other day, "I woke up early but there is nothing different". This is when I was vocal about birds chirping during the early morning. I was so foolish not to know that he lives in the middle of the city. No trees and probably no animals around other than pets and rats.

I was so foolish not to know that he lives in the middle of the city. No trees and probably no animals around other than pets and rats. That does make the difference! I love waking up to birds singing, especially in the springtime. Even the trees make sounds. The leaves rustling. I feel for those who live in the city or even suburbs when they can't enjoy natural sounds.

I do think it's important to practice waking up with gratitude and find enjoyment in the morning. For me, it's that light rumble from the coffee maker.
