Yeah those are some helpful tips. My extended family lives in rural areas too and they are always cautious. My grandfather is 90 years old and even keeps a loaded shotgun in his room even though it's highly unlikely someone would cause an issue in such an area. But living in rural areas can sometimes put more fear into someone when it's not needed because it appear more scary. One thing caught my attention is someone who would leave a key under a mat. That's not a very good idea but people have interesting habits. I don't think it's all too bad if they did but it was completely unlikely anyone would find it though.

The biggest thing is putting on social media you’re going to be gone. The people who need to know already know so you don’t have to broadcast.
