"National Good Samaritan Day on March 13th recognizes the unselfish actions of those who provide help when needed. The day is also known as Good Samaritan Involvement Day and celebrates kindness in all its forms. The term “good Samaritan” comes from the Bible parable where a Samaritan helped a stranger who had been robbed and beaten and left to die by the side of the road. The Samaritan not only cleaned the man’s wounds and clothed him but took him to an inn where he paid for the man’s care. The term is used today to describe those who perform acts of kindness for those in need, especially those who are strangers."
My notes: No matter what is going on, there is always a time to help one another without getting a reward for it. It's called being a Human Being. I encourage people to try it. It will make somebody feel good & will come back to you feeling good.

Whenever there is an opportunity to help someone you should. It's just the right thing to do.

In my humble opinion, every day should be one where you help someone else in little ways. It's a great way to make the world a better place and to get rid of self-centeredness.

"March 13th recognizes National K9 Veterans Day and the dedicated K9 units who’ve served since World War II. A lot of things changed after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. We rationed oil, leather, and rubber. The military draft men into service. Women rolled up their sleeves and built war supplies. And dogs were called to duty. During the first world war, the United States took notice of the European use of canines as sentries, message carriers, and several other functions.
A private citizen, Mrs. Alene Erlanger initiated a program called Dogs for Defense. Along with the American Kennel Club and a handful of breeders, the group aimed to train the dogs for military use. By November of 1942, the military prepared the first Dogs for Defense for duty in North Africa. While they were gun shy at first, they proved to be well trained. As the war progressed, Dogs for Defense was unable to keep up with the demand, and the Remount Branch, Service Installations Divisions took over the training of the dogs. Over the years, the military, police, and rescue have developed a variety of training methods for K9 units. Their training is tailored to meet the demands of the job, and each animal and handler carries out his or her duties to the fullest."
My notes: Dogs have been use for awhile now & they deserve the recognition for the bravery they have.

"National Jewel Day on March 13th recognizes the makers and the jewelers who create the special pieces that take our breath away. The day also recognizes the precious and semi-precious stones that go into beautiful pieces of jewelry. Each year, the day reminds us to wear those pieces and to appreciate the artisans who make them shine!" My notes: Do you like jewels? Do you wear jewelry? I don't care to. Only jewelry I wear is my wedding band when we go out. People may like this QOD I had: Favorite Gemstone

I love jewelry. Especially earrings. Not much into necklaces or rings. I have one special necklace. It has my initial and my late husbands birthstone.

Jewelry is okay but it isn't for me. I wear none, not even my wedding band. My wife on the other hand, is a jewelry nut. I'd bet my house she has more jewelry than any of you. And there is specific jewelry I can't stand ... any kind of facial or tongue piercings for jewelry is just gross to me. (Apologies if I'm offending anyone.)

Do you wear it often? Or just on special occasions? Jewelry is okay but it isn't for me. I wear none, not even my wedding band. My wife on the other hand, is a jewelry nut. I'd bet my house she has more jewelry than any of you. And there is specific jewelry I can't stand ... any kind of facial or tongue piercings for jewelry is just gross to me. (Apologies if I'm offending anyone.) Your wife definitely has more than me as I only have TWO pieces. My wedding band & my engagement ring.
I don't care for body piercings just like I don't care for tattoos. I figure it's To each their own.

"March 13 is National Dermatologist Day on the National Day Calendar and we honor Board-Certified Dermatologists as the saviors of our skin, our largest organ! Throughout the day, we’ll pay special recognition to our dermatologists who are on a mission to help their patients achieve healthy skin. A Board-Certified Dermatologist is a doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions that affect your skin, hair, and nails. No one knows skin like a dermatologist. After more than ten years of extensive medical training, they possess unmatched expertise when it comes to conditions that affect the skin."
My notes: Dermatologists can be ideal to get a jump on skin cancer & help with wrinkles & acne. Have you been to one before? I have many years ago but honestly wasn't impressed.
