What company do you use or might want to use? What kind of thing you got, say VPS, shared etc..? What is your ideal hosting, if you could afford it? How do you feel about environmentally friendly hosting, known as green hosting? Does it make a difference? Is it worth a possible extra cost?

I'm on Proboards which is a free service. But many years ago I did have a website & used FatCow for the hosting as it was a green hosting. I want to say I was impressed but I wasn't. The customer service was poor. It may be better now. If I did do another forum or site, I would first look into green hosting as it aligns with my beliefs.

At this moment, I am using GoDaddy as well as hostgator. I would recommend to go for hostgator. Their services are cheap yet the quality is top notch. Their support staffs are well qualified to resolve user's issues promptly. 2. At this moment, my website is still not that popular. So I have choosen shared hosting, which is I guess the cheapest of all. 3. Ideal hosting depends upon the size/bandwidth you need for your site. Obviously VPS hosting would be better than shared ones, and Dedicated servers will even be better than All type of plans. 4. Never had any thoughts on this. That would be nice really if we can protect our environment along with fulfilling our technological requirements. 😊

Typically with any hosting I have used it is usually GoDaddy as they have been my best experience with hosting services and have never found another host better then GoDaddy in terms of referrals from other people.

I use Proboards , Geocities.ws to build your own website Because its free www.howtogeek.com/692445/remembering-geocities-the-1990s-precursor-to-social-media/Does anyone remember GeoCities, the big thing before social media? I can sort of. Well, I'm in my forties now. GeoCities wasn't even a blogging platform. What company do you use or might want to use? What kind of thing you got, say VPS, shared etc..? What is your ideal hosting, if you could afford it? How do you feel about environmentally friendly hosting, known as green hosting? Does it make a difference? Is it worth a possible extra cost? 1. That would be nice really if we can protect our environment along with fulfilling our technological requirements. 😊 My hosting is green. However, I use Facebook a lot and I know it isn't. Basically, it's impossible for most people to make a real change - so people are just doing the best they can. But I wouldn't get down on people for not being green. It's kind of like the fact that many people simply riding on a commercial airplane one time - have already done so much to the environment it's unbelievable.

I use Knownhost for a number of reasons, they are constantly looking to stay green as much as possible and the service is the best I have had, not many can say that every ticket you but in is answered within 3 minutes every time. Been with them for 6 years or more with a VPS as I like to control my own.

jasonn, Jay, I remember Geocities too. Those were the days lol My forum is free but my goal is, if I ever got bigger, to have my own Hosting & Domain & I'd like to stick with ones who are Green. So I'll keep these as reference
