healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2021/07/08/urban-coyotes.aspx Story at-a-glance Researchers at the University of Alberta in Canada have learned that urban coyotes whose diets are rich in scavenged human food are suffering health-wise The coyotes had more human-specific gut bacteria that can potentially impact not only their nutritional status and immune function, but also their behavior The human food-eating coyotes also had lower body fat, stressed immune systems, and more parasites, including a tapeworm that is potentially fatal to dogs and humans The more human junk food and garbage coyotes eat, the more their health deteriorates, making hunting their natural prey difficult or impossible, thereby setting up a vicious cycle Eliminating access to ultraprocessed human food is the single most important thing we can do to support co-existence and lack of conflict with urban coyotes My notes: I know many people view coyotes as a nuisance & while they can kill livestock, there are other ways to keep them away. With this article, coyotes are not the only ones who suffer from non-food consumption. Humans & all creatures, our bodies were designed to process food. Not lab made crap. & we all suffer as a result.

Yeah, I agree. Funny thing is, crap we eat affects our systems too. So it’s no surprise it affects the coyotes.
