healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2021/08/17/how-to-outsmart-cat-when-giving-medication.aspx Story at-a-glance The thought of giving medication or supplements in pill form to a feline family member strikes fear in the hearts of countless cat parents The best way to learn to pill a cat is to practice several “dry runs” before you have an actual need to do the deed, ideally beginning practice sessions when your kitty is very young, so it’s not as stressful later on If your kitty’s medication or supplement can be given with food, the best approach is to “treat” her to a pill hidden in a delicious snack It’s also a good idea to train your cat to accept medication from a syringe or pill gun My notes: This has always been an issue for us. Our dog is easy, she'll eat anything but cats, they tend to be quite picky. When we've needed to give meds, we ask for the liquid version & use a syringe. Even flavored pills don't go over too well for our cats.

Giving cats medication sucks. They usually won't eat it so you have to stuff it down their throat. Basically have to man-handle to get it down. I hate man-handling!
