healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2021/09/23/potbelly-pig.aspx Story at-a-glance Recently, a very lucky potbellied pig named Itty Bitty had a massive 23-pound tumor removed from her abdomen and is now living comfortably at an animal refuge in Washington state Itty Bitty’s owner relinquished her to the refuge before her surgery — a fate that befalls an estimated 90% of pigs adopted as pets in the U.S. when they grow too large for their owners to handle Breeders may label their pigs “mini” in comparison to farm pigs at 1,000 to 2,000 pounds, but so-called “teacup” and “micro” pigs typically grow to 100-plus pounds If you understand that even a “micro pig” will grow into a large animal that can easily weigh over 100 pounds, and you have the adequate space and necessary resources, adopting a pig in need of a home may be right for you My notes: This irks me so much as of course it's humans wanting designer animals. Hmpth! Shouldn't adopt ANY animal just to make yourself look good and to make a statement...do it for the right reasons or not at all

Pigs seem not to be a good pet, to be honest I think it's more of a farm animal, even tho I saw someone walk a pig in San Francisco lol, it was quite big, like a big dog.
