healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2021/10/03/insect-protein.aspx Story at-a-glance At a time when an increasing number of insect-based pet foods and treats are entering the marketplace, there remains very little scientific research to back up marketing claims While the nutritional digestibility and palatability of insects in dog and cat food show promise, questions remain around protein values and sustainability and bioavailability of nutrients When it comes to insects as a component of the ancestral diets of felines and canines, research shows they make up less than 5% of wild cats’ diets, and wolves consume even less AAFCO recently issued tentative approval for the use of dried black soldier fly larvae in adult dog food; as of this writing, this is the only AAFCO approval of insect ingredients in pet food There are both pros and cons to the use of insect-based protein in pet food; much more research is required to better understand its benefits and drawbacks My notes: Hmmm. While I know we CAN eat bugs as humans, it still is not something I care to do. But, our pets DO eat bugs like it's nothing. What are your thoughts on adding bugs to their food? I'm not quite sure yet lol

Certain things might be beneficial but I don’t know about “catch-all bugs”.

The thing is the internet is full of misinformation and good information, like us humans some pets react to certain foods differently. I know one of my friends who has a few bulldogs made a mistake where he would give dogs only the food said on the internet, but after seeing the difference between his and the dogs of a pro, he changed their diet to the diet of the pro dog breeder he said the results were great, even tho there was little info about it online. So yeah you never know, some dogs might have it great, others might not change and some regress due to that kind of food.
