Have you learned to use one? I do not see any of them these days. It is like they vanished.
Do you have one for old times' sake?

I don't have one but I took typing class in high school and loved it. We had electric typewriters and they were fun to use. My first typewriter I owned was a Canon that had a computer type screen like you would find on a calculator. It was fun to type on but a pain to try to do any corrections since it didn't have an option to correct unless you caught it before it "printed" on the paper.

I used to have an old one (not electric) I remember drafting an entire paper with it back in elementary when I didn't have access to a printer. It was pretty nerve wracking in my opinion because if I didn't catch a mistake before I returned to a new line aligning the page to go over a part with white out had to be done manually. I remember slowly pressing the key to see where the letter would land and I would adjusted the paper accordingly. Gosh, I haven't thought about that in a long time! I'm very grateful for the convenience of Word and home printer.

spg, lammchen, sharon, This is in a Word Seek I’m doing: The first patent was issued Henry Mill in 1714. But the earliest known working machine was not made until 1808 by Pellegrino Turri. I used to have a Word Processor. My mom had a typewriter. Those were NOT fun to work with. The letters bounced around & some letters you had to hit hard.

Do you still have the ability to type fast on computer keyboards?

Do you still have the ability to type fast on computer keyboards? I can type quit fast on my ergonomic keyboard. If I use a standard straight one, my wrists hurt.

I have seen that old typewriter users are very fast when it comes to typing on a computer keyboard.

I learned to type on a typewriter. I used a typewriter for a month before I started using a computer.

Typewriter I remember making use of in the past. And it was a good time when it comes to using the same. Writing long paragraphs and slowly typing the words, It was kind of good at that time.

When I was in high school I didn't have a computer, so instead of going to the library to type up a paper I needed to work on I thought "Well if I get a typewriter from a thrift store that should be fine!" Yeah the teacher gave me a second chance and told me that I needed to write the paper using a computer. So I have used a typewriter in the past, it was an electrical one though. xD

I learnt how to use one in the university when I did an outside department course called OTP 101 which is based on learning how to use Typewriter.
