Growing up, we had a pool table & we always called it pool. We also had a swimming pool so imagine being a young kid learning that difference lol While I was not good at it, my parents still have a pool table & we play games on it sometimes when we visit them. Just brings back memories. I don't care to watch it, or any sport really for that matter. I rather be in on the game.

As a kid I had a mini pool table as a kid for a summer. It was rented. Quite fun. I have played pool over the years randomly. Something I don't want to practice enough to get good at but its fun to play. I have never called it billards before though. I have never heard it be called that but knew it could be called that. I don't automatically think of that name.

I call it all pool, as well. I know there are distinctions and classifications (and different tables for different games), but it's all hitting balls with cue sticks to me, so...pool.

We call it pool. I used to play when in college. These days, I play pool on my mobile device. I am not sure but I believe it is called billiards in British English.
