How many have you installed Solar panels for your home daily use? I am thinking to install soon for my home in order to save energy and money, but have to use modern motors for fan and pumps, etc.
I am looking to move into this things soon how about you all?

We thought of it for a second but the upkeep is too expensive.

Solar is expensive when first putting it onto the home and there's something else to think about...the age of your roof? If your roof is really old, consider having a new roof (shingles, whatever you have) put on first and the reason for that is because roofers can't remove the solar panels and replace them. It's usually in the contract with the solar panel company that THEY come out and do it and that's a very expensive process.

I would love solar myself but have read it's expensive & like Bob said, the upkeep.

I thought once you installed solar panels, it's a once and done thing? But I wouldn't be surprised about some hidden costs, but then again, if you can soak up a lot of sun then that just means extra money to put towards its upkeep.
I'll have to ask my co-worker about it, I know she recently had it done and boasting about a zero dollar energy bill.

If it was worth the cost.

I dont have solar panels but i am very interested in them because it would save on the energy bills and at the same time help the planet, the only thing preventing me with this at the moment is i rent where i live so i would have to get permission and secondly the cost it would be to get them installed is not cheap where i am and can be quite expensive.

We don't have solar panels at home, but in our farmhouse, where blackouts are frequent, we have solar lighting. Installation cost is huge but the maintainence is almost zero.

Nice to hear from everyone and I believe most of Governments provide subsidy for utilizing Solar panels. Our Govt is offering subsidy, but still it is cost effective for normal families. I have bought some small solar panels and satisfied with them for charging mobiles, using small fans during summer.
Solar inverter is too costly without a guarantee here.

Yeah, sounds great, and probably is. I don't know about this topic & would have to look more into it.

You should consult to your local government for subsidy to install solar panels on your home as this saves you a lot of money for the next 10 years.
The cost is too high, but you will also enjoy and the batteries should be always buy from good company.
