healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2022/06/02/how-to-choose-a-pet.aspxStory at-a-glance The first decision potential pet owners must make is what type of pet to get, and we each have different expectations and needs when choosing a pet Be realistic about whether you can afford the costs of caring for a pet, including unexpected emergency care, routine veterinary bills and being able to afford a pet with a chronic or lifelong medical condition You're committing to caring for that animal for its lifetime, which can vary from a couple of years for small animals like hamsters to many decades for birds such as parrots, and upward of 100 years for pet tortoises You'll want to choose an animal that matches with your lifestyle, recognizing that, while all animals need daily care, certain pets require more exercise and daily attention than others You'll also need to factor in any pets already in your household and how they will interact with a new pet of the same or a different species My notes: Really think on the pet. The type, personality. What their needs are. What you can provide realistically.

Yeah. Some dogs are high-strung and high-energy and are not a good fit for an older couple.

I have cats now. I love dogs but cats are low maintenance compared to a dog.

I love big dogs with high energy, im looking for another dog soon either a husky or an akita these are my most favorite of most breeds, my previous dog was a staffordshire bull terrier he was a hyper and wild dog but very loving with the family, looking onto my next dog i am leaning towards a husky since a friend of mine had one and they are so full of energy.

Taking care of my dogs have never been any problem or challenge for me. As it stands, I have 3 dogs and I can easily get 2 more. The only problem would be that I would be looking at getting a bigger space to fit us all in at once.
