A garage sale is easy. Deleting files from PC is hard.

I try to keep everything to my desktop, once it gets full I take time to sort what I need or delete the rest. It can be a pain at times but seems to work best on cleaning stuff up, though I've noticed I got a lot of stuff from over the years, I need to take a few days to deep clean my files or relive my past lol.

I like to think I'm pretty good at this actually. Went on a little bit of a cleaning spree recently where I combed through my email addresses and deleted everything I didn't know. I now always end the day with 0 unread emails which is nice to look at instead of 3000+ unread emails from the past couple of years

I have this issue, I really need to go through not only my computers but also my email accounts. I have thousands of unread emails as well, that I really need to go through. I start going through both every once in a while, but then I get bored with deleting files and emails and then it piles up again. :\

spg,I do agree with you since in these days old things are not working like modern ways so we need to thrash them than restoring it. ZandraJoi, The article has been clearly explained, but my heart says it takes time in doing such cleaning or deleting files.

Even 5 minutes of clearing can add up in the long run.

Everything I have digital is organized. And I do clear things out if they are no longer relevant.

I understood your plan on how to clean the, yes ofcourse, but those who doesn't get most time and they are unusable, then it should be in garbage. I do in my free time working that needs larger time, but it gets boring. Thanks your advice and this method has done by me for other things.

Apart from 1 TB storage on my computer, I have two hard disks with 1 TB storage each. I also have a couple of could storage accounts. About 80 percent of my storage is full. It is really difficult to manage your digital clutter because you don't know what you might need later on.
