I have used various methods to get rid of weeds in my garden and best i usually do if just dig up the roots and keep on top of it each time i see weeds, but here in the UK glyphosate is being phased out from being in most household weed killers and could be banned or stopped being sold as an active ingredient/chemical in these weed killers that we can buy from the shops at this current time.
what is your views and experiences with glyphosate and do you agree with the removal, banned or restricted use where you are from, or do you prefer to use natural methods instead of chemicals.

Yeah I agree with the ban, the research state there can be a risk to health, not worth it. Though i should say, most weed killers without aren't great in my experience.

gh0st4unt3r, elseb, I'm for holistic & natural. There are natural alternatives. Being on top of them like you said is great for weeds. & then the term weeds is relative. Dandelions are considered weeds but are quite pretty, albeit invasive. They contain several vitamins & minerals. From the leafy greens to flower heads. Even a "tea" from the roots. Many weeds have health properties. It's just humans got used to seeing clean lawns. A thread you may like: Lawn & Weeds Info

Natural instead of toxic...always a better choice. And, I think a lot of those 'weeds' are pretty:-)

Digging up weeds is ok for a garden but not a lawn. We live on a corner lot so there is a lot of lawn and of course with that comes a lot of weeds, mostly dandelions. Doesn't help when the city does nothing about them either. Toxic chemicals are never a good idea, but I find those natural methods don't always work either.

It's a difficult decision when environmentally friendly methods don't control or kill headstrong invasive weeds.

lainee, spice, Emerald, Thank you for your answers! It is harder when one lives in the city or suburbs with more rules. Since we live rural, we can let the lawn go naturally in some places. The only thing that really helps is to keep the lawn mowed. Then the weeds won't produce seeds as much.

Only greedy morons think glyphosate is safe. The rest of us know better.

i agree i never really like using glyphosate after reading the effects in can cause to humans and the enviroment one of the reasons way i try to just keep on top of the weeds by hand. you have to think is it worth the risk to ourselves that it can cause after i read up about it in detail.
