healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2022/07/25/harmless-bones-for-dogs-to-chew.aspx Story at-a-glance Media reports of the dangers of bones to dogs are plentiful, for example, the story out of Australia about a dog who was given a bone to chew and did an impressive and very costly amount of damage to his mouth and teeth The U.S. FDA also offers advice on giving bones to dogs; in recent years the agency has updated its guidance to warn consumers about cooked bones and “bone treats,” specifically, distinguishing them from “uncooked, butcher-type bones” While it’s a fact that for some dogs, no bone is safe, most can be offered raw bones providing the pet parent is knowledgeable and closely supervises chew sessions It’s important to know what kind of chewer your dog is so that you can select appropriate bones for her; for example, some dogs are aggressive chewers, some are scarfers, and some are soft chewers My notes: Bones are great for dogs but be sure they are supervised.

I wouldn't think bones would be good for them with their teeth. Raw seems to be the best.

I totally agree that bones can cause harm to these dogs, but I have given to my dog when it was their. Dogs feel good with bones even though their teeth become weak. I would say small bones might be good to chew them since A tiger never eat grass.
Animals unable to tell us what they need to eat.

How about feeding your dog dehydrated chicken feet that are dehydrated ( not cooked) at very low temp. for a long time?

I guess it depends on the dog and their lifestyle if they can endure an actual bone or not. I've seen my friends and family give their dogs like a special made chewing bone that is supposed to help strength their teeth. I would think most prime dogs could endure a bone if strength enough.

Yak bones are one of the things we give my daughter's dog. They last a long time and don't splinter. They're super expensive though at $20 for the x-large but they last about a week.

I’ve heard that they can get splinters from bones is that true? It mostly happens when it's cooked bones. Raw bones don't splinter as easily. Another thing is to give them whole raw bones. When they are cut, that is when they can splinter. Also softer bones like ribs, even raw, are not good. Many people give their dogs raw bones but the best thing is to always monitor your pet & never leave them unsupervised when chewing.

Bones can be very dangerous, they can ingest sharp bits and it can also affect their gums negatively.

I’ve heard that they can get splinters from bones is that true? Yes, some bones can do that. Yak bones are made from yak milk so it's not like some other bones and is strong, but won't splinter. We've give our daughter's bulldog cow knuckles too and she loves them. They're so messy though.
