Some people like to be a part of some gang, normally a political party. Are you an active supporter of a political party?

I'm not an active supporter meaning I don't go to rallies but I do support them. I'm for honoring our Constitution & helping to fight for our Rights. I do that by supporting American Made companies who believe in being Patriotic.

I am a Patriotic American who believes in our Constitution, our Liberty and our God-given rights. I respect our American Flag & when I hear the National Anthem, I stand and put my hand over my heart. Being a Conservative Republican, I pay attention to who's running for office and vote for the more Conservative candidates. So, yes... I am political.

I recently bought memberships in our Federal and Provincial parties to vote for the replacements in both those. I vote in both Federal and Provincial elections but that is about it.

Yes I am in politics from long ago, but we were in small gang like corprator and CM's are almost scams here so it is wasting our life by spending time with them. This is the third time changing my party to another, but this one is also a bad one.
They say one thing before election and after winning they won't do as per their promise.

The only thing that gets me into taking part in politics would be to vote during the elections. Once that's done, I'm not interested in whatever they do next.

I have never been interested in joining any political party because of how disorganized some of them are during election periods. I like going to vote on the day and doing nothing else afterwards.

Nope, the political climate is sure to be the most toxic it ever has been, I'm staying out of it. Have enough issues in my life.

Every word you said describes me to a Tee. I'm Republican as well but if that Mango Mussolini gets back into office, I fear for our country.

I try to stay away from politics. I've seen toxicity from both sides, not everyone on each side of the spectrum are bad of course! Those who make it their whole personality tend to be more toxic I've noticed.

Yes and no. I care about the issues and vote in elections, but I've never been one for party politics (partly because I have significant policy disagreements with both of the main parties in my country, and partly because the party organisations themselves aren't exactly great).
So yeah, I'm an independent. I'm certainly more left-leaning than right-leaning; however, I do have a libertarian streak that often puts me at odds with the 'woke' left, whom I frequently find to be too controlling.

spg, lainee, Bob, spice, golden, heatman, henrywrites, demonskeith, Steve, ravenfreak, kyng, I want to commend members here for talking about Politics & we can Agree to Disagree. We are speaking our thoughts but not berating others. We all have opinions & beliefs & while they may be fine for US, they may not be fine for another. & THAT is perfectly acceptable! Nobody is right but nobody is wrong either. Accept the person even if you don't accept what they do or believe. Thank you to all for being a Human BEing!

Indeed: I'm certainly not here to berate anybody who thinks differently from me . One thing I really hate doing is telling people who they should vote for. I can tell people who *I* would vote for, and give my own reasons for it if asked - but ultimately, each of us has our own lived experience which is ours and ours alone - and I think it factors heavily into all of our voting decisions.

I'm a political person but totally non-aligned. My views don't fit into any easy tick box type of politics and I've always been a swing voter.

My views don't fit into any easy tick box type of politics and I've always been a swing voter. I've seen that with a lot of parties as well. One may like a bit of each.

In this country we have the right to a PRIVATE vote so I don't tell anyone who I voted for, not even my wife. But, like Speaks I stay away from political discussions because it gets me fired up and makes me someone I don't want to be. If everyone had the correct opinion (i.e. the same as mine) the world would be a whole lot more pleasant to live in.

Just general news makes me upset & I have to shut it out. In this country we have the right to a PRIVATE vote so I don't tell anyone who I voted for, not even my wife. I feel we as Human BEings SHOULD be able to have a civil conversation but the reality is, majority don't. That's quite sad!
& one of these days we'll all get to read the Books of Steve's Laws

In my experience, the prominent news outlets tend to hyper-focus on a handful of highly emotionally-charged issues that people are very split on (right now, those being abortion; LGBT+ issues; Israel/Palestine; and Trump's legal battles). And while I don't deny the importance of those issues, the news outlets (on both the left and the right) tend to talk about them in a way that's designed to make people angry with the opposing side, and that's not productive at all IMO.

Exactly it’s polarizing and toxic we don’t talk politics at my dad’s house because it turns out we have a completely different view on everything. It turned into a big fight one day and that’s with family ffs
