www.familyhandyman.com/article/small-shelf-in-the-hall "That handy nook used to hold a landline telephone, but you can still find ways to make it useful. While modern architecture is stunning, there’s always an invisible something pulling me toward vintage home trends. We love a house with character. Did you know that houses in the South even have traditions that explain paint colors? There are some mysterious old home features our modern society needs help understanding. You know, like that odd little cubby on the wall...." My notes: We never had a nook like this. This house we are currently living in, we still have our landline (& I'm going to hold onto it as long as I can!) but there was no nook here as well. Does or did your home have this?

Most definitely, old houses have the most character. Although, as far as that little nook in the hallway, we didn't have it, either

The modern architecture can make this small shelf into big ones and in these days we are finding folded ones too. You see their is one more shelf which is made from wood at the bottom and you can add even more to place other things.
This is an olden structure that doesnt meets for modern days.
Phone stands are their in market that can suit for us and even it is cheaper to place on wall.

Makes sense. We didn't have one.
