What do you do for your plants when frost is forecasted for your area? Once frost hits the ground, more than likely your plants are done for the year. Which sucks to see them go since most could go on blooming forever.

Old sheets work.

Usually by the time frost comes to my area it's time to let the plants die out so there is enough time to clear out the beds for the winter. It sucks, but it all comes to an end every year.

demonskeith, Bob, We have used old sheets as well as blankets. If it's early in the season, like it is now where we had a frost advisory, although it didn't hit us, I like to extend it. Some of my flowers are JUST getting their seedpods ready; I don't want to lose them due to unseasonably cold weather. But yeah for the most part, by the time frost hits our area, it's when the plants are getting done as well. I clear my beds out in the spring. I leave the flowers & seedpods up as many of the birds still find seeds in them to eat. Plus I just feel it looks better than being all cleared out & bare.

We just do our best. We cover seedlings up if frost is in the forecast.
