I have seen it done in a lot of tech movies that I watch because it's one my favourite movie's genre. I learn a lot from such movies. I don't have a CCTV installed in my home yet but if I do, it's going to be all those type you couldn't know is there and not to talk about hacking it.

I would just not leave them connected to the internet, keep them locally run so I can only access them from a network not connected to the internet.
