Very nice tips, though the best one is to just simply not give them out or leave them out where they can be gotten at. I know my grandpa has lost a few tools by leaving them laying about carelessly.

We have engraved on utensils in our home, but in my company I lock them under Almirah so no can stole them. My suggestion is never give a chance to enter scammers in your home or company as they can steal even you marked the items.
Most tools cant be engraved or painted, etc to recognize that is ours.

There's been a lot of crime recently in the UK with people breaking into vans at night and stealing tools. Nowadays leaving tools in the van overnight is a big no-no.

Good tips. Don't leave them lying around.

I have been sceptical about giving out my tools. I give out the ones that I can easily replace and keep the rest of it.

All my tools gets put away into the store room once they have served their purpose for the day. Unless the thieves would break into my store and take them, that's the only way they would get stolen.

I would recommend putting them in a closet instead of in the garage. It's a lot harder to have them stolen that way.
