A lot of gardeners in my area collect rainfall for the purpose of watering their gardens.
Some areas have made it illegal to collect it. Personally, I would ignore the law because who has the right to regulate your use of nature that isn't theirs? It's a dumb law.
Luckily where I am, it's not against the law.
Do any of you do it?

For Rainwater collection, they say because it prevents it from going into the land. But their reasoning is not accurate at all. When we use the rainwater, we use it on trees, plants, flowers, garden. So it still DOES seep into the ground!
We have 4 rain barrels. It's not against the law here. Even though we have well water & live rural, I like to conserve.

We do collect rainwater...conserving makes sense. It's not against the law here, and I agree with you, hikershawn...it's a dumb law:-)

I might get some buckets to do that next year, let it gather up to use on my flowers and keep my own water bill cheaper. Plus, the rain water is a lot better than the city water.

We have a few rain barrels hooked up. Use them to water the flowers.

Sometime only I collect Rain water as it is just like plant minerals that makes to grow stronger. Here we can collect rain water and no one ask us anything also we have problems in rainy season for water logging.
I have used rain water most of the time and it really helps to the plants, vegetables or fruits growth

I have a 500 litre of tank outside my house that I use to collect rain water. It's the best water as far as I'm concerned.
Our government wouldn't dare to put in a regulation on the collection and using of rain water because they are not mad.

Our government is emphasizing rainwater water harvesting for many years, however, I am yet to try rainwater harvesting. However, I do sometimes collect rainwater in pitchers and drums so that I can use it for cleaning or watering the plants.

I really want to get into it. I will grab little containers worth here and there, but I do want a true system one day. Dealing with winter is always rough.

I collect rainfall and will think that it is funny for anyone to regulate how people behave whenever it is raining anywhere.

At the moment I do not have the facilities to collect rain water but I would like to get a water butt so that I can catch rain water when it does rain so that I can use it for different purposes such as watering flowers or even using it to clean so the path in the back garden. Since the heatwave last year and hosepipe bans coming into force, it's never been a better time to start collecting rain water. I know my mum collects rain water and she always has some to be able to water her plants and also any fruits and vegetables she grows.

With how good I love rainfall water, I made plans to have a 200 litre tank out in the open where the rain falls inside it directly. It's more pure that way without touching the house roof.

It is a dumb law asking people not to collect rainfall. I do collect it and make use of it in watering my farms. It is always a good experience when it is rainy season as I enjoy some good times during those period.

We are in raining season now and I make efforts to collect rainfall water whenever I'm home and it rains. I drink rain water too and it's a good source of drinking water.
