Now that the USA is really getting hit with snow, what kind of snow do members around here deal with? None at all? A metric ton? How hard of a job do you have shoveling snow?

Now that the USA is really getting hit with snow, what kind of snow do members around here deal with? None at all? A metric ton? How hard of a job do you have shoveling snow? We just got dumped with a foot of snow between yesterday & today. Here in Michigan, USA, we can get some good snowfall. Starts in November with some flurries but doesn't really kick in until December then goes until March or even April.
My husband snowblows. I do the shoveling. We have a cat enclosure (8' high fenced yard with cat-fence-in up) I keep shoveled so the cats can go in & out our walkout basement. It can be tedious especially when it's the heavy, thick snow.
What's it like for your area?

I live in a place where the temperature can drop to a minus degree but it doesn't snow. Therefore, we don't have to deal with shoveling.

The snow is about 4 feet deep. Which isn't all that bad really.

Lots of parts of the UK have been hit with snow but we've been lucky so far, though we had a massive amount of frost. Hopefully get a little bit of snow early next year!

I try and keep up with the snow clearing as soon as it stops. The worst part is when it drifts and becomes hard to clear. Thankfully I have a wonderful neighbour who has helped with his snow blower when that happens.

My area has gotten a lot of annoying dustings of late, though they got a big storm projected this week and sub zero temps, can't wait to freeze and shovel at the same time, going to hate it.

Normally we get a few feet over the winter, but lately, it is warm and rainy with blizzard-like storms that dump snow all at once. We only have a short driveway and some sidewalks that are not bad to shovel, but a few years ago a neighbor was throwing out a working "junk" snow blower, so we claimed it and it was been amazing every year since then.

It really is going to be bad this weekend, 8 inches of snow in zero degree weather, most you can spend time outside shoveling is like 10 minutes no matter how bundled up you are. Extremely dangerous stuff going on in my area.

I'm glad I'm not over in the East Coast, they are really getting blasted with snow. Hearing a lot of people dying from it as well hope it melts quickly for them.

Most of us are used to it! I grew up here with 4 seasons. Although, I would LOVE to move to a warmer climate with warm weather year-round but my parents are here so it's not feasible. I don't like the cold either. That's why we also have what's called "Cabin Fever" & even "SAD" Seasonal Affective Disorder. I'm glad I'm not over in the East Coast, they are really getting blasted with snow. Hearing a lot of people dying from it as well hope it melts quickly for them. I'm in Michigan & we got 2' of snow but our temps also got to the 50's so most of it melted. Unreal! They are getting some of the warmer temps as well to melt most of it. People definitely need to plan when you hear any storm coming. We went to the store beforehand & then just stayed home!

We have not had as much snow as we normally do this year in my area. On years with particularly heavy snowfall, my back really pays for it.

I have seen some trending video in the last week that ICE is falling over houses and roads, but I can't bear here with cold lower temperature. When I was kid thought to play in the ICE, but not I am not interested. Do you mean Wooden Cabin?

Also get what we call "black ice" which is ice on the roads that you can't see but is very dangerous. Cabin Fever is "irritability, listlessness, & similar symptoms resulting from long confinement or isolation indoors during the winter." People tend to go stir-crazy being stuck inside all winter long.

In the UK and England, I wouldn't say we never get snow but it is very rare that we get snow that we need to shovel when we do get it. I think I remember the last time we had snow bad enough we had to shovel it to get out of our houses was in 2010 I believe and I remember the snow being up to my knees and I am quite a short person. Anything else usually is just a dusting and doesn't always need shoveling to be honest so we just leave it.

I like shoveling. I like seeing a nice, clean path. A nice shoveled area. I shoveled a lot when I was younger for money.
