If you had the opportunity to be immortal, would you take it? No. While it looks cool in movies & stories, it’s got to be quite boring after awhile.

Yes, I have very few connections in life and given today's vast internet of connections, I have no issues living forever and still connecting with people. Still, it would rob me to know the ultimate truth of what is the point of life if I could never die.

Cowards. LOL I just feel I'd be too bored with life. THEN... another take, you are immortal but your loved ones aren't. That'd be hard to see everybody else passing away around you.

Yes, the sheer volume of knowledge I could consume would be amazing.

Not immortal but to live longer and not be held back by growing old. Live long and stay young.

... another take, you are immortal but your loved ones aren't. That'd be hard to see everybody else passing away around you. True, that would suck canal water but think of the things you could do. You could learn to be a world renown life-saving surgeon and when you get bored with that, you could learn to play an instrument and become the best in the world. The possibilities are endless. You could enter politics and become the most influential person on the planet. You could learn how to solve the homeless problem, war, greed ... you name it.

Yes, the sheer volume of knowledge I could consume would be amazing. I will also want to stay around for the future because it is not easy to live as long as you wish to leave. I like it when I have to stay around in the world without being afraid of when I am going to die.

I wouldn't want to be immortal. All the people you love would end up passing away and you would eventually become lonely... If they were immortal too, then perhaps I would want to live forever. It would be nice to see how far technology will advance.

What could be the reason for you saying no to that kind of offer? Unless I will grow very old, this is an offer I shouldn't let me by.

The decision of whether or not to pursue immortality must be weighed carefully, taking into account both the benefits and the risks.
The idea of immortality raises questions about what it means to be human. One of the defining characteristics of human life is the knowledge that it will come to an end, which makes us appreciate every moment and strive to make the most of our time. If we knew we would live forever, would we still value our experiences and relationships as much? Would we be motivated to achieve our goals and make a difference in the world, or would we become complacent and bored?
Second, immortality may present a unique set of difficulties. For instance, we might outlive our loved ones and go through a severe case of loneliness. A devastating and traumatic event could be witnessing the planet's decline and eventual destruction.
The effects of immortality on society should also be taken into account. It could lead to conflicts and unrest if only a small number of people were granted access to eternal life.
However immortality would give individuals the opportunity to experience more of what life has to offer, to learn and grow, and to achieve greater personal fulfillment. With more time to explore the world and oneself, one could develop a deeper understanding of human nature, society, and the universe. In addition, immortality could provide a greater sense of purpose and the chance to pursue long-term goals that might not be achievable within a normal human lifespan.
Another argument is that immortality might allow people to have a bigger impact on the world. One might be able to end some of the world's most pressing issues, like poverty, disease, and climate change, if they had infinite time. Additionally, immortality might enable people to impart their knowledge and experience to succeeding generations, advancing society as a whole.
I personally think immortality outweighs the risks.

Absolutely not. Then I'd have to witness the deaths of all my loved ones, and all the people and things I care about !

I think that would be awesome! Then I could stop thinking about dying every 5 minutes! 😄
I would have to have my young body back though because I would not want to be all busted up and in pain all the time like I am now.

Funny enough I came across this video:
Gets rather deep for anyone with connections, immortality is for the lonely people.

It'd be nice if we could revert back to our younger bodies, that's for sure! Funny enough I came across this video: Gets rather deep for anyone with connections, immortality is for the lonely people. I mentioned it'd be boring but I can see the loneliness as well.

If my friends and family won't be immortal as well, there's no fun or point in being one. This is because everyone in my life will die one day and I will be left alone and lonely. It's going to be a very sad life for me.
