www.naturalawakenings.com/2023/01/31/424264/turning-vegetable-waste-into-plastic "The World Economic Forum estimates that about 400 million tons of plastic waste are produced globally each year and that 98 percent of single-use plastic products are made from fossil fuels. So, the prospect of replacing the petroleum in plastic with a plant material is exciting news for the planet and humanity...." My notes: It would mean LESS petroleum but to me, it’s still plastic. Better would be to have it all eco-friendly.

You are true and even here our Government posed ban on one time plastic usage, but they revoked again. We all need to make something on this, but most people are lazy and doesn't care about someone life.
Eco friendly tea cups came when plastic was posed to ban, but Govt changed their mind and still single usage plastics are running.

You have to phase it in as it’s not a one to one swap. You have to consider the manufacturing process. Changing one thing can jack up the entire assembly line process.

Yeah, still plastic. Doesn't sound like a good solution long-term.
