Per Day Of National Waitstaff DayDoes your country automatically tack on the %? How do you feel about that? Do you think all should incorporate that practice or let the patron decide? I feel restaurants should pay a good wage. Too many waiters & waitresses depend on Tips as they don’t get paid enough. That shouldn’t be on the customers. This is the only job (that I know of) where tips are dependent. Pay a good wage & then customers tipping should be optional. It shouldn’t be dependent on a “job well done”, if the waiter or waitress was good or bad, or if the customer has an attitude or not. What are your opinions?

I do tip but not keen on when it automatically gets added onto my bill. It seems to be getting out of hand though as it used to be just restaurants where you tip. Now it seems everyone offering a service wants to get tipped.

I tip when overseas but in Australia you aren't expected to tip unless you get very good service and you want to.

Yes, I do tip and as generously as I can.
However, I don't like being TOLD how much I should tip...it should be a personal choice.

Sometimes, all depending on food and how good the service in the restaurant.

I tip and I think the patron should decide because sometimes the person doesn't deserve the tip and sometimes the person deserves more. I think they should just do away with the tips. And a lot of them owed paying taxes as they don't report them. Their fair share of income tax like everyone else.

Yes, assuming I have the spare cash for it!
Normally I try to tip around 10%.
