That's one of the reasons we went to a Toner printer. We hardly print & it was quite annoying when inkjet would get dried up. We tried refurbished inks but found out Samsung, bought by HP, has some code now that prevents people from using anything other than 'their' brand. It's not only expensive but not eco-friendly. Some places DO recycle ink cartridges but most people don't consider that option. What do you think? Do you think ink is expensive? Do you use a lot of it? If so, what for?

There used to be a church that collected old ink cartridges and I forgot what they did with them. But it was nice to take my old ones in and think that they were getting a new life. The ink for my canon printer is expensive, but I really only buy it once a year and of course, it goes out right at the time we print things out for taxes. Of course!

I personally think their too expensive. My wife prints a test page once a month to keep the print heads from drying out.
A lot of printer companies are moving towards liquid containers for ink that you don't replace. You just fill up the color that's low and print on.

I know some if not all Best Buy stores take the ink.

It really is, companies like HP sell their printers at a loss and know they will make up for it with ink sales. Though I hear epson's eco tank is the ink answer to using toner printers.

It is expensive. We wanted to try the refurbished but they are not compatible. Have to buy their own ink.

I have learned to buy printers aimed more towards business use as their ink comes in better cost per use values. But it is still expensive.

Right now, I think the only best options is the eco tanks, where you fill them up with ink bottles or high-end laser printers that take toner cartridges.
