I read them on my bottle of Great Value Brand (Walmart's cheap brand) Blueberry Syrup for pancakes.
It had two things on it that made me go, huh?
1. Contains traces of anchovies 2. Contains an ingredient that was bioengineered in a lab
As a result, I threw it away. I now read the back of everything I buy, and as a result of that, I quit buying a lot of the stuff I used to buy.
How good is the stuff we're putting in us these days?

I prefer the least amount of ingredients as possible in the foods I buy. If I can't pronounce it, do I need it in my body?

hikershawn, lammchen, Oh, for sure...the last 20 years or so, I read EVERYTHING! And, yep, nowadays, it reads 'bioengineered in a lab'..A LOT. I've definitely changed my buying habits for the better Organic, Grass-fed, non-GMO...foods fresh from local farmers when possible

I try not to most of the time, there is so much stuff on food it kind of makes me depressed at times.

We buy mostly organic but I still read labels. I'm sensitive to gums & they are allowed in organic products. Plus sometimes they may slip in greenwashing words & get around the organic/natural label. The best thing to buy is organic produce with just the one ingredient. Conventional produce may have added wax i.e. on apples & have used pesticides.

I'm definitely seeing food differently after that, to be honest.
Of course, I knew it wasn't good even before that but it kind of woke me up.
I'm buying more stuff locally now. It's more expensive but it's healthier. Live longer and be broke or save money and die early, right?

We read the labels often. Never know if there would be a questionable food product in it.

I read labels and amazed at all the additives in some foods hikershawn, it really is an eye opener!

I often skim them, but I generally don't have to motivation to look up the normal names of the ingredients. So overall it doesn't get me far as so many common ingredients are listed under chemical names and such that look scary but end up being something like salt.

I've been reading it so much now that I've made dramatic changes to what I eat.
A lot of what I used to really enjoy are things I no longer eat because of the ingredients.
I guess it's a big life-changing event for me.
