Anybody have an ergonomic keyboard? What do you like & dislike about it? Mine’s not split in half but is curved. I cannot use straight ones; my wrists can’t take those.

A couple of years ago my wrists and carpal went critical and I did everything to 'stabilize' them, so I went ergonomic everything. I have a jellycomb keyboard at work and use a Cloudnine keyboard at home. I use Anker ergonomic mouse as well.

Back when I worked in I.T., I used a split ergonomic keyboard, thought it was the best thing since sliced bread! But now, since I don't do nearly as much typing, and I tend to use the Gboard (Google Keyboard) with my phone, I'll dictate what I need to type more often than not. However, I can't seem to do that whenever I want to write a fan-fiction or role play. I still have to type out the paragraphs of text.
I do however, invested heavily in an ergonomic gaming chair. It's so comfy, I could probably sleep in it, despite it's awesome for body posture while working. Yet another reason to work from home...

I think I tried that but it really took some getting used to. I use a Trackball but it definitely has to be kept charged & cleaned otherwise my wrists feel it. I looked up the ergonomic gaming chair to see what it's about. It looks like a regular chair but something must be right for it as I've heard others use it as well.

Let me see if I can find the chair I purchased. It's the best, more comfy working chair I've ever owned, and was worth every penny I spent on it. Gaming Chair Link And it's super sturdy!

Thank you for sharing! Does it keep you more upright & have pressure points perhaps? I've seen those chairs. I use a split wave keyboard ... once you go split wave, you'll never go back. I agree! lol I bought mine 5 years ago for $25. I can't find them anywhere that's not an arm & a leg & other body parts lol I tried other ones but they didn't feel right. This one the - key doesn't work (have to use it on the Number Pad) & many of the letters are worn off. Good thing I can type without looking lol

I'm not too sure about the pressure points, but it is super sturdy and comfy. I can sit in this chair for hours and not be bothered. Some days, I'm like, where'd the day go?!
I had the original Microsoft split keyboard. The newer models never felt "just right". Right now, I'm just using a basic multi-device keyboard. It's easy on the typing, just clicky enough that I feel feedback, and I can type for hours on it. Someday, I may go back to my ergonomic keyboard -- especially if I find a gamer-girl pink one! (to match my chair, obviously!)

I wonder if you could paint keyboards??

I probably could fall asleep in this chair if I reclined it and had a fleece blanket. I get too cold too easily though.
Yes, in fact you can paint keyboards. Actually you can actually replace all the keys of a keyboard too. Now a days, you the more advanced keyboards have RGB lighting technology, so you can color code the keys based on a light color. I follow the blog of a guy who builds custom keyboards (all kinds of designs) in addition to making his own role playing games.

I honestly didn't know you could paint keyboards! Have you tried it before? Is there a special paint?
I've heard of replacing some of the keys & I remember trying that a long time ago & we screwed up our keyboard. The keys then didn't lock into place & fell out. Maybe keyboards are better at that now.
