www.familyhandyman.com/project/gravel-garden"If you're looking for a trouble-free landscaping option, a gravel garden might be in your future. Once established, they're a lot less hassle than lawns and standard landscaping beds, because they need minimal weeding or irrigation. And once they fill in with a bounty of native plants, they'll provide all the ecological benefits of a traditional flower garden...." My notes: I've heard of Rock Gardens but not Gravel. I would think you'd have to research what plants you put in there as some may not appreciate not having dirt around them. What do you think? Have you done one before? Do you think you would? While it may keep down weeding, it's just not appealing to me personally.

My garden area was full of gravel, I just put plants in it with a little mulch at the base so the rocks don't cook them during high temperatures. It can be pretty nice once everything is going.

I am not keen on total gravel gardens, it remind me of cemeteries. Nothing like a touch of grass, not an acre lol, with the gravel and plants, flowers etc.
